At first glance, Youtube most definitely doesn’t seem to be the first choice social media platform for artists like painters and cartoonists. How well the Youtube concept can work for artists nonetheless proves cartoonist and storyteller Levni Yilmaz.
His sketch series “Tales of Mere Existence” offer viewers a whole range of stories that come directly out of everyday life. Painting the last strokes as he tells his little stories and anecdotes, “Tales of Mere Existence” make the viewer smile. Well-drawn characters with comic elements, the protagonist representing the artist Yilmaz himself, pull the viewers into their own childhood and experiences.
Who cannot relate to the story about wanting to be cool at school and often failing miserably? Or trying to win the heart of your fling at school? Yilmaz tells all those stories in a fresh way, a way that really everybody can relate to.
