This is my Christmas / Holiday Greeting Card, inspired by the television show Stargate SG-1. It depicts the characters Jack O’Neill and Sam Carter in a tender holiday kiss, and was originally created as part of the Advent Calendar on the Gateworld forums.
However, it turned out so beautiful, that I redesigned it to make a beautiful greeting card collection, available in two different versions: One saying “Happy Holidays” and the other one saying “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.
It was solely painted digitally, using Manga Studio 4 Debut for sketches, outlines and inking, and Manga Studio 5 EX for coloring. For coloring I used mainly the marker to fill in the basic colors and then used the airbrush pens to add shadows, lightning and texture. In the end I used some special effects for glitter.
Photoshop CS5 was used to add some overall color effects, as well as soften the picture.
