These are two photos of me, taken in May 2005.
These are two pictures of the landscape I grew up in. Actually it's taken from a larger hill near the nouse of my grandparents, where I used to play with my cousins and my sister when we were young.
As you can see, there is a lot of nature. This closeness to nature during my childhood had a large influence on my personality and my religious belief system. I still admire the sound of a summer wind when it goes through the trees. Or a thunderstorm at fall, when leaves were blowing all around me and rain soaked me all through. Rain on the countryside tastes so wonderful - so special and pure. I spent hours just walking over the fields and through the woods.
What I miss most though, now that I live in the city, is the silence of nature at night. There was only the sound of animals and wind, so I kept open my window all night, even during the winter. I cannot do that now, since the noise of cars will keep me awake all night.
This is a photo taken from the balcony of the apartment I live in now. I love taking pictures of the sky, especially at sunset time. The sky shows so many colors. Someday I will buy a really expensive camera that can take in the full spectrum of the colors of a sunset in the city of Berlin.
