General Information
Why is this Site called 'Reflection'?
"Look at me, you may think you see,
who I really am, but you'll never know me.
Every day it's as if I play a part.
Now I know, if I wear a mask,
I can fool the world.
But I cannot fool my heart.
Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me,
why is my reflection someone I don't know?
Must I pretend that I am someone else for all time?
When will my reflection show who I am inside?"
(Lyrics taken from the song "Reflection" sung by CoCo Lee)
Isn't that what everyone of us has - that secret me that nobody knows? Secret dreams, hidden thoughts, visions about what to change in this world? The side of us that we hide deep inside, because it is too fantastic to be considered adult, too revolutionist to be accepted by society... too strange to be taken seriously.
This site with all its art reflects that side of me and thereby reveals who I am inside. That's what the name 'Reflection' stands for.
Why are there so many butterflies in your layout?
Because they have a special meaning to me. When I was a child, about eight or nine years old, me and my friend were one afternoon lying on the grass in one of the backyards of the house in Berlin, which we were living in back then. It was a summer, where there were astoundingly many butterflies. And while we were lying in the grass, staring up at the clear blue sky with single white clouds passing by, we were dreaming of our future, the places we would go, what kind of job we would have and what we would do. And all the time, butterflies flew over us, high above. To us they seemed almost as high as the clouds, and we were thinking about what the world must look like from high up. It was a moment where the whole world seemed to be an open road, endless horizons and millions of possiblities. I still memorize it to be one of the happiest moments of my life. That's why butterflies still have a special meaning to me. They remind me of possibilities.

I still have tons of additional early (1999-2001) unfinished stories on my harddrive, but since some of them only consist of 4 or 5 pages, I left them all out, and only listed major unfinished projects.
