Art -> Drawings/Paintings

Here are some of the pictures I drew. I painted a lot when I was younger. For about two years I seriously wanted to become a comic artist and work for Walt Disney someday. I even bet with a classmate for 100 DM (which is 50 EUR now) that I would someday manage to work for Disney. But since my parents didn't let me pursue an career in art, I eventually stopped spending all my time on drawing and instead concentrated on something that became even more important to me: Writing. I guess I'll have to pay my classmate EUR 50 someday, for dreams can change...

Still, someday I want to illustrate one of my books with a few self-painted pictures if I get the chance.

Portraits

The X-Files - Dana Scully

The X-Files - Dana Scully
Portrait of the FBI agent from the famous TV-series. Drawn with pencil...

Star Trek Voyager - Kathryn Janeway

Star Trek Voyager - Kathryn Janeway
This is the first portrait, a mere attempt actually, to draw a portrait of a real living person which had nothing to do with comic characters.

Star Trek Voyager - B'Elanna Torres

Star Trek Voyager - B'Elanna Torres
This was the second portrait in the 'Star Trek Voyager' series, I painted. It is also the one I tend to like most of them...

Star Trek Voyager - Seven of Nine

Star Trek Voyager - Seven of Nine
The third picture in the 'voyager' series, a portrait of the sexy cyborg, drawn with pencil.

Star Trek Voyager - Janeway and Chakotay

Star Trek Voyager - Janeway and Chakotay
This was meant to be the title picture of my Star Trek Voyager novel (can be found in Writings -> Fanfiction (Star Trek Voyager). Unfortunately, the original picture got lost during my 3 movings to new apartments, and probably landed in some garbage can. So this (rather bad) scan is all I have left.

Greek Summer

Greek Summer (Portrait of Antonio H.)
This is the most beautiful portrait I have drawn. I actually titled it "Greek Summer" and later added the subtitle "Portrait of Antonio H". Painted in May 2001, mostly outside in the landscape.

Portrait of Tina P.

Portrait of Tina P.
A very recent portrait of my best friend Tina. It's also dedicated to her as appreciation for her constant support of my dreams. You can clearly see that I haven't drawn for almost 4 years since I'm a little out of practice. Painted in January 2006.

Titanic - Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet - Titanic
This picture was an attempt that worked out surprisingly well. It was the first (and only) time that I colored a portrait. (Drawn with Color pencils)

Landscapes

Oil Colored Couple at the Ocean

Couple at the Ocean
I know that in the next picture I state that I used oil colors for the first time. That is not exactly true. This picture came before "The Little Mermaid - Copenhagen". But since I cannot draw men, at least not the features of their face, I left it unfinished. So you could say that this picture served as a draft for the mermaid one. When I found it very recently I was surprised at how nice it looked. The waves and the reflections, the moon throws at the water and the cliffs at the horizon look more vivid and lively than in the mermaid one. (Also the mermaid does have a smile on her face.) Therefore I put it up here. Also painted with oil colors in the night after my graduation prom. The woman in the picture does actually wear the dress I wore at my prom.

The Little Mermaid, Kopenhagen, Denmark

The Little Mermaid, Kopenhagen, Denmark
I drew this one after I returned from a family vacation to Denmark. Although we actually didn't see the statue, I felt inspired by the sea and a little mermaid statue that I bought as a souvenir in Denmark. I used oil colors for the first time. Here I put up two different scans, one of them is darker, but it is actually the same picture. When I looked at them, I felt that each of the scans had a different mood, so I put up both.
--> Here is the DARKER VERSION

Silhouette

Silhouette
This picture was finished rather quickly. It was an idea that came to my mind and finished it in less than 2 hours I think. I simply colored it with color pencils.

Comic/Manga/Drafts

Alias - Irina Derevko and Jack Bristow

Alias - Irina Derevko and Jack Bristow
This picture was also drawn rather recently. I think it was in fall 2005 for an 'Alias' forum on the internet. The figures are drawn in the 'chan'-version, which means 'cute'. They were to serve as a draft for a cartoon, but I never came to draw that comic.

Angel

Angel
I made this draft when I was still back in school in my physical science class (secretly of course). I actually planned to color it, but then decided that color would take away a lot of the spirit of this picture so I left it black and white...

Chobits - Chii

Chobits - Chii
This draft was meant to stay un-colored. It was planned as part of an application map for a school of animation and comic, but since I didn't get financial nor moral support from my family I finally abandoned the idea of becoming a cartoonist. This was the last picture I painted in 2002. Now I only draw casually, when I have time - which is very rarely

Character Study: Cutie with Glasses

Character Study: Cutie with Glasses
This drawing was part of a series of character studies. but this one turned out especially cute, so I wanted to save it.

Neptuna ante Lunae

Neptuna ante Lunae
This is Neptune playing the violin under a full moon. Drawn entirely with pencil.

Haruka & Michiru in Bed

Haruka & Michiru in Bed
This was actually the first picture ever I made! I can still remember it vividly, because it tool me like two weeks of constant work during my Latin classes. I did perspective/shadow studies, intensive character studies, etc. And when I found it two days ago, I was stunned by how lively it actually seems. It is as if you're looking through a window into a room. Awww... I miss those drawing times.

Living on a Farm

Guitar Girl in the Wind (Dedicated to Elke S.)
This picture came to life at approximately the same time when I drew the 'Angel' draft. It was inspired by an old photo I found in an album of my mother with my aunt sitting on a fence at the farm they were living on, playing the guitar. It's a beautiful photo, and I fent there was a story to it. I had to make it into a picture.

Character Study - Haruka/Michiru

Character Study: Haruka & Michiru
This was part of a character study I did for the Sailor Moon characters Haruka and Michiru. It was the most beautiful draft and I loved it.

Portrait of the Seasons: Spring

Portrait of the Seasons: Spring
This was meant to become a whole picture series titled "Seasons", which was to show impersonations of the different times of the year, but actually only the first picture was finished. It's called "Spring". It is a large format so I could scan it that nicely - therefore you see those shadows over and under the girl. It is actually a shimmer picture, but unfortunately the scan doesn't quite bring that over.

Comics/Cartoons (Colored)

Serenity - Princess of Eternal Hope

Serenity - Princess of Eternal Hope

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Tokyo No Ai

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Tokyo No Ai (Love of Tokyo)
This picture is actually a rather large one. I painted two whole evenings to finish it. I have a similair one in the erotic section, in which I used the same style.
The title's translation is 'Tokyo's Love'.

Desert Dreams

Desert Dreams
An old picture from my 'Sailor Moon' time, which I still adore, because looking at it I can still feel the passion and love I felt when drawing it. Also the wind seems so lively... This picture also won me the first price in a manga character art competition. Therefore it has a special place among all of my works.

Witch - Elementary Girls

Witch - Elementary Girls
This is simply a picture I came up with after reading this "W.i.t.c.h." Comics which are published in Germany (and some other countries in the world, I think). I drew that the day after I had an operation on my teeth, as kind of distraction from the pain.

Ariel, the Little Mermaid - Moonlight

Ariel, the Little Mermaid - Moonlight
This picture was inspired by the sea. Since Ariel was - and still is - my favorite Disney character, I painted this picture. The title of the picture "I'll never forget" refers to dreams.

Ariel - Fashion Girl

Ariel - Fashion Girl
Again a picture of Ariel. I love this one, because I managed to draw the typical 'Ariel-expression' into her face. And also I has a hard time with all the shadows

Warrior of Hatchepsut - Watcher of the Atlantis library

Warrior of Hatchepsut - Watcher of the Atlantis Library
In this picture I tried to draw the characters of my second novel in manga style.

Greek Mythology - Gods

Greek Mythology - Gods
I painted this picture as I was writing the sequel to my novel "Warrior of Hatchepsut" which concerned itself with the Greek Mythology. So as a little inspiration I drew a little draft for a scene, and this turned out so beautiful that I had to color it.

Greeting Card: Christmas

Greeting Card: Christmas Angel
This picture was also part of my Greeting Card series. It's very colorful and lively and has its own kind of humor, with a Grinch-like guy, and the girl who loves him and wants to celebrate Christmas with him. They're a contrast, and maybe that's why I like this picture. It tells a story.

Greeting Card: Missing You

Greeting Card: Missing You
This image was also part of my Greeting Card series, and I still like looking at it, because it seems to have so much yearning in it. And aside from that I find it beautiful in its colors... The German text in the picture translates "Missing You". Also painted in 2001.

Greeting Card Wedding

Greeting Card: Wedding
A happy, just married couple... I actually intended to use this for a 'Congratulation-Card' series I once planed.

Arabian Night

Arabian Night
This is actually more a draft than the actual picture, because it's very small and I didn't finish coloring it, since I actually planned to paint a larger version - which I never did, so I will put this one here.

Own Manga

Own Manga   Page 2 | Page 3
The heros of my novel in a short Manga story. (3 pages online)

Japanese Fantasy

Japanese Fantasy
One of the few examples where I actually integrated Japanese language into my pictures. "Warrior of Hatchepsut" is another example. Painted in April 1999, as indicated in the picture.

Couple in Love

Couple in Love
A loving couple, colored in pastel. I drew this after seeing a similar picture drawn by Japanese artist/mangaka Naoko Takeuchi.

Japanese Kimono

Pretty Guardian Sailormoon - Kimono
This picture started out as kind of excercise for me to draw kimonos. But then I found it rather beautiful and colored it.

Snow Fight

Pretty Guardian Sailormoon - Snow Fight

Kitchy Marriage

Kitchy Marriage
This was the first Sailor Moon picture I ever drew. When I finished it, we were just having this topic 'industrial design' and everything connected to it as topic in our art class that semester. I always had a very bad grade in arts, since I just cannot fulfill requirements. If I have to draw something which I'm not inspired to draw I am incredibly bad at it. So that week, we were to produce something incredibly kitchy. Therefore I just framed this picture (or a copy of it), and actually received a B+.

Erotic

Celine Allan

Character Study: Celine Allan
Sexy Celine Allan, the hero of my second novel - could also be any other woman though. Colored with computer (MGI Photo Suite).

Acient Bath

Ancient Greek Girl in Bath
This picture was an attempt I started back in 2001. It is actually the second picture of an erotic series colored with computer. (Program used was Corel PhotoPaint)

Naked Girl Showering

Naked Girl Showering
The first picture of the series, also colored with computer. The drafts were made with a fine black pen, then I scanned the pictures in black and white and colored them with a graphic program.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Magic Nights in Fairies World

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Magic Nights in Fairies World
This picture was an illustration for a German Sailormoon fanfiction I wrote. I can still remember spending days on it. I was the final working period in our theater course and whenever we were rehearsing a scene where I was not in, I worked on this picture. I love remembering that time...

Portrait: Haruka

Casual Afternoon - Haruka
Another style, but also part of the Sailormoon series. I used to make collages with giftwrapping paper back then. This technique was inspired by the Japanese artist Naoko Takeuchi with whom I read an interview in a magazine in which she stated that she often uses newspaper or casual papers as background for her pictures.

Portrait of Haruka

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Haruka Ten'ou
Part of my Sailormoon erotic picture series, drawn with color pencils and a special black color pencil which you could smear with water. There is a very similar picture of Lara Croft, which kind of served as inspiration for this one.

Portrait of Michiru

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Michiru Kai'ou
Also part of that series in the same style. I loved those mysterious black pictures at that time. I used the same color pencils as I did for "Haruka Ten'ou"...

Erotic Pinup

Erotic Pin-Up
I painted this picture in January 2006, when I was sitting with my best friends in the Burger King store I work in, having a nice evening. The patterns that consist of little dots are actually made with a golden shimmering glitter pen, but you can't see that on the scan - unfortunately.

More to be added soon...
